James H. Stephenson III, Ph.D
Managing Partner & Chief Scientist
Dr. James Stephenson’s research focuses on aircraft and rotor noise measurements in wind tunnel, flight testing, and the effect that noise has on people and the environment. Throughout his career he’s directed or conducted research with universities, US Army, NASA, and NATO. Dr. Stephenson was nominated for the 2019 Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers, is a Board of Directors member for the Vertical Flight Society, and a recipient of the Alfred Gessow Award for the most impactful paper at the Vertical Flight Society’s annual conference. Dr. Stephenson received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from George Washington University, and his MS. and Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Robert F. Rau II, Ph.D
Managing Partner & Chief Engineer
Dr. Rob Rau specializes in mid-fidelity aerodynamic and acoustic predictions of single and multi-propeller vehicles. He excels at applying research to problems generating solutions with real world benefits. In addition to computational modeling expertise, Dr. Rau has an extensive background in Software Engineering providing services for the design and implementation of safety critical software for the automotive industry. Dr. Rau received his B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
